Hey there, Pune peeps! Big news coming your way – a Public Interest Litigation (PIL) has been filed against the Maharashtra Metro Rail Corporation Limited (MMRCL) for their negligence and poor planning in the construction of the Ramwadi and Yerwada Metro stations on Nagar Road. The petitioners, Qaneez-E-Fatemah Sukhrani, Ashutosh Pravin Mashruwala, and Umesh Sandipan Magar, are not happy campers, to say the least.

They are raising concerns about the chaotic mess that is the construction of these Metro stations in Pune. Traffic bottlenecks, inadequate parking bays, poorly placed entry and exit points – the list goes on. The petitioners are not holding back, accusing the authorities of encroaching on Nagar Road and reducing the navigable carriageway by a whopping 7 meters on both sides. Yikes!

And it doesn’t stop there. The petitioners are also calling out the authorities for dumping construction debris and garbage, making the traffic situation even worse. They’re not mincing their words when they talk about the lack of coordination among the MMRCL, Pune Municipal Corporation, and Traffic Police in planning and maintaining roads around the Metro stations.

But fear not, justice is on the way! The Chief Justice of the Bombay High Court has ordered the Pune Urban Metropolitan Transport Authority (PUMTA) Chief to take action on the petitioners’ concerns within the next two months. The petitioners are also demanding a meeting with all the relevant authorities to address the issues raised and find a solution to the public grievances.

So, Pune folks, buckle up for some changes on the Metro front. It’s time to get those traffic issues sorted out and make life a little easier for everyone in the city. Let’s hope the authorities listen up and take action soon. Stay tuned for more updates on this developing story!
