Hey there, Pune folks! Exciting news coming your way about the Lion and Tiger Point development project in Lonavla! Deputy Chief Minister Ajit Pawar is cracking the whip and making sure this ₹909-crore project gets completed on time by June 2027.
So, what’s all the fuss about? Well, picture this: a 125-meter-long glass skywalk linking Lion’s Point and Tiger’s Point, giving you a bird’s-eye view of the stunning landscapes around. It’s like the Grand Canyon Skywalk, but right here in Maharashtra!
The project got the green light back in September 2023 for acquiring 20.90 hectares of forest land. The PMRDA has already shelled out ₹5.2 crore to the forest department for the land. And where’s all this happening? In Kurwande village, Lonavla, where a 90-meter-long bridge will also be built.
At a recent meeting, Ajit Pawar stressed the need to stick to the timeline. “No delays, people! This skywalk will put Lonavla on the map,” he said.
But wait, there’s more! The project includes ₹213.1 crore for infrastructure and a whopping ₹695.9 crore for PPP initiatives. Construction kicks off this year, with the state government likely to pitch in for infrastructure. And to make up for the forest land, they’ve found alternative plots in Suwadi and Kondivade.
Once this project is done, Lonavla will be THE go-to spot for tourists and locals alike. Get ready for some breathtaking views and a boost in job opportunities, Pune!
