Kasba Peth, 24th February 2025: MLA Hemant Rasane made a groundbreaking announcement today that unauthorized flex banners will no longer be allowed in public places within the Kasba Assembly Constituency as part of the Clean, Beautiful, Developed Kasba campaign.
Inspired by a study tour of Indore, which has topped the Swachh Bharat Abhiyan rankings for seven years, Rasane highlighted the four pillars of Indore’s success: a well-planned administrative strategy, strong political will, public participation, and being a flex-free city. He declared that he will lead by example by not displaying unauthorized flex banners in public places.
Efforts over the past three months have already resulted in the closure of 26 waste dumping spots, public awareness campaigns against littering, increased sanitation staff, and the integration of information technology for better waste management. To celebrate these achievements, a ‘Cleanliness Narayan’ Mahapuja will take place on February 26 at the 26 locations.
Rasane also shared his vision for Kasba’s development over the next five years, including projects like reviving Shaniwar Wada, creating underground traffic corridors, developing historic sites, improving healthcare services, and revamping public spaces. Community involvement will be key to achieving this vision, with Rasane emphasizing the importance of strong political will and public participation in making Kasba a model of cleanliness and development.
