Ravi Singh, originally from Jalandhar, Punjab, is an engineer who has worked both in India and abroad. In 2016, he tied the knot with a woman from Pune and they moved to Europe together. Ravi took care of all the expenses related to his wife’s relocation, including visa fees, travel costs, and living expenses.
However, trouble began brewing during the COVID-19 pandemic when conflicts arose between Ravi’s wife and his family. In 2020, she filed a case in Pune with the help of a police friend, accusing him of various offenses including dowry harassment, outraging modesty, intentional insult, and more.
Things took a turn for the worse when a Lookout Circular was issued against Ravi without any prior notice. In February 2021, he was detained at the airport, his passport was confiscated, and he was sent to Tihar Jail. This ordeal had a negative impact on his career as he missed out on job opportunities in Germany.
Despite facing these challenges, Ravi remained determined to prove his innocence. After a long legal battle, his wife filed for domestic violence and divorce in December 2022, seeking a hefty monthly maintenance and litigation expenses. However, Ravi was able to present evidence that showed his wife’s financial independence through her IT background and earnings from stock market investments.
