In just a short span between April 2024 and January 2025, the Pune Division has already installed over 2700 KWp of solar capacity. With more installations underway, the division is showing its commitment to renewable energy and environmental responsibility.
Some of the major solar installations include Pune Station, Kolhapur Station, and Diesel Loco Shed GPR, with each contributing to significant cost savings and environmental benefits. With an expected reduction of over 3000 tonnes of CO₂ emissions per year, the division is making a real impact in the fight against global warming.
Not stopping there, the Pune Division is also aiming for SHUNYA Certification for select railway stations, showcasing their dedication to achieving net-zero energy consumption. With future plans for expansion and more solar installations in the pipeline, the division is paving the way for a cleaner and greener railway network.
