Hey there, Pune peeps! Here’s some hot news for you – the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana (PMAY) is making waves in our district, but it looks like there are some bumps in the road when it comes to getting those housing subsidies out to the people who need them.
So, get this – out of the 33,000 folks in Pune who were approved for housing under PMAY, only 20,000 have actually seen any of that sweet subsidy cash. Why the holdup? Well, it seems like there’s a bit of a paperwork party going on, with issues related to land ownership and documentation causing a headache for the Zilla Parishad.
Union Home Minister Amit Shah recently swooped in to distribute the first installment of the subsidy to some lucky recipients at a fancy event in Balewadi. But get this – out of the 7,000 folks who showed up, only 19,000 actually got that first payment of ₹15,000. The rest are still waiting in line, twiddling their thumbs and wondering when they’ll see that cash hit their accounts.
The main issue seems to be the lack of proper land ownership documents. Some folks don’t have their land registered in their names, while others are scrambling to find enough proof to satisfy the powers that be. The Zilla Parishad is trying to work some magic with the District Collector’s Office to sort this mess out, but it’s slow going.
And to add insult to injury, some applicants haven’t even linked their Aadhaar cards to their bank accounts yet. Come on, people – get it together!
But don’t fret, dear Puneites. Officials are promising that once all the paperwork is sorted, those pending grants will start flowing like water. So hang tight, keep your documents in order, and hopefully, you’ll be cozy in your new PMAY-approved home before you know it.
