Pune Airport is gearing up for a major change as all flights will be shifted to the new terminal starting March 5. This move is expected to improve passenger facilities and streamline operations, according to Airport Director Santosh Dhoke.

The renovation of the old terminal is already underway, with plans to convert the arrival section into an additional departure area and develop a new security hold area. The process is estimated to take around 6 to 8 months.

The new terminal, which handles over 90% of flights, is equipped with 10 aerobridges and can accommodate up to 9 million passengers annually. Travelers are advised to arrive early and stay updated on airline notifications.

In a recent incident, a stray dog was run over by a SpiceJet aircraft during taxiing, raising concerns about the presence of stray dogs at the airport. Pune Municipal Corporation has been requested to address the issue.

The complete transition to the new terminal is a significant milestone for Pune Airport, promising a modernized and seamless travel experience for passengers.
