On the eve of International Women’s Day, a groundbreaking initiative will take place in Pune and Pimpri-Chinchwad. All 27 sub-registrar offices will be run solely by women on 7th March, a day ahead of the official holiday. This move aims to showcase the capabilities of women in traditionally male-dominated roles.

Women officers will step into key positions such as Joint Sub-Registrar and District Stamp Collector for the day. Sangita Jadhav Pathare will lead as the Joint Sub-Registrar (Class 1) and District Stamp Collector for Pune, while Rajashri Khatke will take on the role of Joint Sub-Registrar (Class 2). Additionally, women employees will manage Class 2 positions in all sub-registrar offices.

Santosh Hingane, the current District Stamp Collector and Joint Sub-Registrar (Class 1), expressed the importance of this initiative. He highlighted that seven out of the 27 women officers will be assuming the role of sub-registrars for the first time. This change aims to demonstrate the efficiency and capability of women in handling challenging responsibilities within the Registration and Stamp Duty Department.

The move has been met with positive feedback, as it showcases the empowerment and skill of women in the workforce. It is a step towards gender equality and recognition of women’s contributions in traditionally male-dominated sectors.
