Did you hear about the recent bust at Liquid Leisure Lounge (L3) bar on FC Road in Pune? Two men, an architect from Mumbai and a software engineer from Mundhwa, were arrested after a viral video showed them consuming a substance at an illegal party. The police raided the bar on Sunday afternoon and found evidence of drug use, as well as the party continuing past the 1:30 AM closing time.
The party was attended by a group of 40-50 people, mainly IT and private firm employees, and regular partygoers in their 20s and 30s. Interestingly, the two arrested men were not part of this group but were identified through UPI transactions and connections to one of the party participants.
Pune police commissioner Amitesh Kumar mentioned that one of the arrested men brought the contraband to Pune, and they found a similar substance in his possession in Mumbai. The substance is believed to be similar to MD drugs and is currently being verified by forensic experts.
In addition to the two men, one of the bar owners and three license holders were also arrested for conspiracy to organize an illegal party and disobedience. All eight men are currently in police custody until June 29.
