Today, on the occasion of International Women’s Day, the Pune Division of Central Railway pulled out all the stops to celebrate and honor women employees and passengers. The celebrations at Pune Railway Station were led by Swati Verma, President of the Women’s Social Service Organization (WSSO) Pune Division, along with Divisional Railway Manager Pune, Rajesh Kumar Verma, and Senior Divisional Security Commissioner Priyanka Sharma.

The events included various initiatives such as honoring women passengers with flower bouquets, distributing pamphlets on cyber crime awareness, collecting passenger feedback to enhance safety measures, conducting a street play on women’s safety, and launching a special campaign to prevent crimes against women on trains.

In a significant step towards women’s welfare and safety, the first-ever RPF Women’s Barrack of Pune Division was inaugurated at Tadiwala Road, Pune. This new facility will provide rest and accommodation for women RPF staff working in Pune and surrounding areas.

The Loco Operation Department of Pune Division also celebrated International Women’s Day by recognizing the contributions of women working in the running staff. A total of 24 women were honored for their dedication to ensuring the safe operation of trains.

The celebrations at Ghorpadi Coaching Depot included a Rangoli competition and a Musical Chair event for women employees, with winners receiving gifts to mark the occasion.

Overall, the Pune Division of Central Railway reaffirmed its commitment to recognizing and empowering its women workforce, ensuring their welfare, security, and professional growth.
