Yerawada was in for a shock on 10th March 2025 when two young men caused a scene after partying at a high-end pub in Koregaon Park. Gaurav Manoj Ahuja and Bhagyesh Prakash Oswal, both residents of Pune, were found to have consumed drugs before stopping their luxury car in the middle of the road at Shastrinagar Chowk and engaging in inappropriate behavior.
The police, after retrieving CCTV footage from the pub, confirmed the duo’s activities and arrested them on various charges including creating a public nuisance, indecent behavior, and obstructing traffic. The complaint was filed by Police Constable Ganesh Thopte at the Yerawada Police Station.
The incident, which took place on Saturday, 8th March, gained attention on social media after a video of Gaurav Ahuja’s actions went viral. Bhagyesh Oswal was arrested on the same day, while Gaurav surrendered at a police station in Karad before being taken into custody by Yerawada Police.
During their court appearance, it was revealed that both individuals had consumed drugs before the offense. Despite their uncooperative behavior during interrogation, the prosecutor argued for their police custody to investigate further details related to the incident.
Gaurav Ahuja, who has a criminal background and is already facing cases at another police station, tried to evade arrest by going into hiding in Kolhapur. However, after surrendering and recording an apology video, he was formally arrested and is now in police custody.
Deputy Commissioner of Police Himmat Jadhav confirmed the arrest and assured that further investigation will be conducted to uncover more details about the incident.
