Hey there, have you heard about the recent arrest made by the Pune Police? Three individuals were caught for trying to extort money from an Ayurvedic treatment center in Pune. Apparently, they were threatening to make misleading videos viral on social media if they weren’t paid off. The whole thing went down on 3rd February at Tejashree Ayurvedic Upchar Kendra in Dhankawadi, Pune.
So, what happened was these two guys walked into the center, pretending to be interested in Ayurvedic treatments. But things took a dark turn when one of them, who called himself Rohit Waghmare, started making threats. He claimed to be some big shot political party president and demanded a specific treatment. When the staff didn’t comply, they showed a secretly recorded video of the treatment session and demanded money.
After getting hold of ₹800 from the counter, the accused fled the scene. But thanks to a quick complaint from the treatment center’s employee, the police were able to track them down. The investigation led to the arrest of Rohit Gurudutt Waghmare, Shubham Changdev Dhanwate, and Rahul Dnyaneshwar Waghmare.
These guys spilled the beans during questioning and admitted to pulling off similar stunts at other places in Pune. Turns out, Rohit Waghmare has a history with the law, with cases registered against him in Warje and Ambhora Police Stations. The court has now remanded them to police custody for further investigation.
This whole operation was led by some top cops in Pune, including Additional Commissioner of Police Pravin Kumar Patil and Deputy Commissioner of Police Smartana Patil. The investigation team did a great job in cracking this case, and now they’re on the lookout for other possible victims of this extortion racket.
