Hey there, Pune peeps! Big news coming your way on this fine day. Former IG Nashik Dr B. G. Shekhar Patil (IPS) has just announced a new movie project on the legendary Maratha general, Santaji Ghorpade. This announcement comes on the death anniversary of Chhatrapati Sambhaji Maharaj, showing respect to the great warriors of the past.

Santaji Ghorpade, known for his expertise in Guerrilla warfare, served as the 7th Senapati within the Maratha Empire during the reign of Chattrapati Rajaram. Dr. B. G. Shekhar Patil has been deeply inspired by Ghorpade’s bravery and has dedicated a book titled ‘Shur Sarsenapati Santaji’ to him. The second edition of the book was even released by the Maharashtra CM Devendra Phadnavis.

And now, the exciting news is that a movie titled ‘Randhurandhar Santaji’ based on the book is in the works. National award-winning Cinematographer and Director Amol Gole will be taking the helm of this historic project. With his experience in handling historical movies like Mangal Pandey and Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose, we can expect a visually stunning and impactful film.

Gole mentioned the importance of attention to detail in recreating the historical era, from sets to costumes to make-up. The shooting is set to begin in August, with a planned release for early next year. Stay tuned for more updates on this exciting tribute to a true Maratha hero!
