In a shocking turn of events, 18 parents in Pune have found themselves in hot water for allegedly providing false information to secure school admissions for their children. The Pimpri Chinchwad Police have taken action against these parents under the Right to Education (RTE) Act after discrepancies were uncovered during a screening process in the Matalwadi Bhugaon area near Bavdhan.

It seems that these parents submitted fake residential proofs in order to take advantage of RTE benefits, which prioritize admissions for children living closest to the school. The Maharashtra Education Department, led by Chairman Sharad Gosavi, discovered that the parents did not actually live at the addresses provided in the rental agreements. It is believed that these agreements were obtained through collusion with property owners to game the system.

As a result, the admissions of these students were revoked last year, and the Education Department has ordered further action against the parents involved. The Bavdhan Police Station is currently conducting an investigation into the matter, with individuals such as Sachin Bhosale, Khandu Biradar, and Sumit Ingawale among those accused.

The Education Department is cautioning parents against engaging in such fraudulent practices, warning of stricter consequences if similar incidents occur this year. It’s clear that authorities are cracking down on those who try to manipulate the system for their own gain.
