Hey Pune folks, here’s some news that might make your life a little easier – traffic violation cases in Pune, Pimpri Chinchwad, and Pune Rural are going online! Yep, starting Monday, you can file those pesky cases through a dedicated portal on the district court’s website.

No more running around to submit documents, as the city police, RTOs, and Highway Safety Patrol will all be digitally submitting cases. The Motor Vehicles Court in Shivajinagar is leading the charge, aiming to streamline the process and reduce the burden on law enforcement agencies.

And guess what? If you’re the offender, you’ll get an alert to pay the fine online. If you miss the deadline, you’ll have to show up in court to settle the fine. But hey, at least you won’t have to deal with the hassle of physically going to court to file the case.

With nearly 1.3 lakh pending traffic violation cases, this online system couldn’t have come at a better time. It’s all about making things more efficient and speeding up the process. Training programs have been organized for officials, and lawyers can now submit documents online too.

Pune Police are all for this new system, issuing around 1.1 lakh e-challans every month. It’s all about transparency, reducing manual work, and improving efficiency. But don’t get too comfortable – serious offences like drunken driving and rash driving will still require court appearances.

Officials are optimistic that this digital transition will not only benefit law enforcement but also encourage citizens to follow traffic rules. So, buckle up, Pune and Pimpri Chinchwad, because safer roads are just a click away!
