Hey folks, buckle up because the Pune Metropolitan Region Development Authority (PMRDA) is gearing up for round two of its anti-encroachment operation on our city’s highways and major roads starting from March 17. The first phase was a success, with over 2,500 unauthorized structures removed, and now it’s time to tackle even more obstacles to smooth traffic flow.

In this second phase, the joint task force made up of various authorities will be targeting key roads like Pune-Satara Road, Sus Road, and Hadapsar to Dive Ghat, just to name a few. PMRDA Commissioner Dr. Yogesh Mhase is urging encroachers to voluntarily remove their illegal structures and get the necessary approvals before making any new developments.

To give you a heads up, here are some of the major roads that will be cleared of encroachments between March 17 and 30: Pune-Nashik Highway, Pune-Solapur Road, and Chandani Chowk to Paud Road. During the first phase, nearly 900 structures were removed from the Pune-Nashik Highway alone, so you can imagine the impact this operation will have on our roads.

Authorities are also sending out a warning to anyone thinking of encroaching on these roads in the future. Let’s all do our part in keeping our roads clear and safe for everyone. Stay tuned for more updates on this important initiative. Let’s keep Pune moving forward!
