- The traffic situation on Ahmednagar Road is getting a much-needed makeover thanks to some experimental changes being implemented by Deputy Commissioner of Police (Traffic) Amol Zende. And guess what? It’s actually working!
- According to Zende, these changes have led to a significant improvement in traffic movement and a decrease in congestion. So, if you’ve been stuck in traffic on Ahmednagar Road recently, you might just have something to look forward to.
- As part of their efforts to crack down on traffic violations, the traffic branch has already collected a whopping ₹2.48 crore in fines. Talk about making a dent in those bad driving habits!
- Some of the violations they’ve been targeting include wrong-side driving, drunk driving, triple seat riding (seriously, why do people still do this?), no parking, and signal jumping. It’s all in the name of making the roads safer for everyone.
- In total, 34,311 cases have been registered under this special drive. That’s a whole lot of rule-breakers getting their just desserts.
- With the success of this pilot project, authorities are now looking into other measures to improve traffic management on Ahmednagar Road. Who knows, maybe your daily commute is about to get a whole lot smoother. Stay tuned!
