Drumstick prices have taken a nosedive after hitting record highs last winter. The unseasonal rainfall in Tamil Nadu and Andhra Pradesh caused prices to skyrocket to ₹600 per kg, but now they have dropped to a more reasonable ₹40 to ₹50 per kg. The increased supply from regions like Pune, Nashik, and Sangli has led to a surplus in the market, bringing wholesale prices down to ₹10 to ₹20 per kg. Despite the abundance of drumsticks, demand remains steady. In March and April, when production typically peaks, prices are expected to stabilize even further. So, if you’ve been holding off on buying drumsticks due to the high prices, now is the perfect time to stock up on this nutritious vegetable at a more affordable rate.
