Hey Pune peeps, get ready for some exciting news! The Pune Metro service is set to extend to Swargate before Ganeshotsav, with 95 percent of the underground metro line work already completed. That’s right, from District Court (Shivajinagar) to Swargate, the metro line is almost ready to roll.

Atul Gadgil, Director of Mahametro, is optimistic about starting the service on this route before Ganeshotsav. The route includes three stations: Budhwar Peth, Mandai, and Swargate, covering a total distance of 3.64 kilometers. Fun fact – the metro line from District Court Station to Budhwar Peth Station will pass under the Mutha riverbed, a first in Pune’s history.

Once the construction is complete, the Metro Railway Safety Commissioner will inspect the route, and if all goes well, service could begin as early as September. This new metro line will be a game-changer for devotees in the central area of Pune, especially during Ganeshotsav. Say goodbye to heavy foot traffic and hello to a convenient metro ride to your favorite Ganesha temples.

So mark your calendars and get ready to hop on the metro to Swargate soon! 馃殗馃帀
