1. Deputy Commissioner Pradeep Thengal has issued a warning to hoarding holders regarding renewal applications. If applications are not submitted by March 31, hoardings will be removed, and legal action will be taken. This comes as part of efforts to regulate hoardings in the city.
  2. The Sky Signs Department has sent notices to hoarding holders with pending dues. Fifteen hoarding holders owe amounts ranging from Rs. 1.5 lakh to Rs. 5 lakh. The department has an annual target of Rs. 18 crore and has collected Rs. 16.67 crore so far.

In response to a tragic incident in April 2023, where an unauthorized hoarding collapsed in Kiwale, killing five laborers, the Municipal Corporation has cracked down on illegal hoardings. 174 illegal hoardings have been demolished across the city, and stricter enforcement of hoarding rules is now in place.
  4. The administration is emphasizing the timely renewal of licenses and clearing of pending dues for hoarding holders. Failure to do so will result in hoardings being declared illegal, and subsequent action will be taken, including removal and legal cases.
  5. The Municipal Corporation’s efforts aim to ensure public safety and prevent accidents by strictly enforcing hoarding regulations. Violations by hoarding holders will not be tolerated as the city works towards creating a safer environment for all residents.
