Calling all Pune residents! Exciting news on the development front – the Pune district administration is making progress on the Inner Ring Road project under PMRDA. Land surveying has begun, and landowners are giving their consent for land acquisition.

In a recent survey of 16.5 hectares in Wadachiwadi, the district administration kickstarted the process. The next phase will take place in Ambegaon Khurd village. This project aims to alleviate traffic congestion in and around Pune by constructing two ring roads. The Inner Ring Road, spanning 83 kilometers and costing an estimated ₹14,200 crore, is a priority for PMRDA.

To make this project a reality, PMRDA plans to acquire 115 hectares of land across 13 villages. A recent meeting led to the start of land measurement in various villages. PMRDA has already allocated ₹113 crore to the District Collector’s Office, with 30% of the amount already deposited for the initial phase.

A total of 743.41 hectares of land across 44 villages in Khed, Haveli, Mulshi, and Maval talukas will be required for the Inner Ring Road. This road will connect Pune-Satara Road with Nagar Road and will feature 42 roads, 17 bridges, and 10 tunnels. Additionally, a corridor for a future metro line has been reserved.

Villages like Wadachiwadi, Bhilarewadi, Pisoli, Yewalewadi, and others are part of the land acquisition proposal. Deputy Collector Kalyan Pandhare confirmed the progress, stating that the land measurement process has begun and is moving forward.

With the land acquisition process set to accelerate in the coming weeks, Pune residents can look forward to a smoother commute in the near future. Stay tuned for more updates on this crucial infrastructure project!
