The video of a chaotic scene at the Pune police headquarters has caught the attention of many on social media, highlighting the issue of unemployment in Maharashtra once again. The recruitment drive, which started in January for 531 women prison police posts, saw over 3,000 candidates showing up for the selection process, causing a commotion at the entry gate. The gate collapsed under the pressure of the crowd, resulting in some candidates falling and minor injuries being reported.

Eyewitnesses described a stampede-like situation for a brief period before police were able to restore order. Despite concerns raised online, DCP Sandeep Bhajibhakare denied any stampede occurred, attributing the chaos to the larger than usual crowd due to parents accompanying the female candidates. He assured the public that the recruitment process is proceeding smoothly and in a disciplined manner.
