Hey there, Punekars! Did you know that World Sparrow Day was celebrated with great enthusiasm by the Arambh Foundation and Punekar News at One Place, F.C. Road on Sunday, March 16? Yep, even though the official day is on March 20, the foundation decided to kick things off early to get more people involved in sparrow conservation.
Arambh Foundation has been all about protecting sparrows and their homes for over 13 years now. This year, they really stepped up their game with a cool initiative—a theatrical play called “Chimaniyanche Gharakul” (Sparrows’ Nest) written and directed by Ashwini Ambike. The play, performed by kids from grades 1 to 7, wowed the crowd with its AI-enhanced visuals and powerful storytelling. Seriously, it was a sight to see!
The event was graced by some big shots like Rotary District Governor Shital Shah, Abhishek Kavitkar (Founder of Tree Public), Kapil Gandhi (Sigma One), and many more. They were all super impressed by the innovative approach taken by Arambh Foundation in raising awareness about sparrow conservation.
Speaking of innovation, Manish Khadilkar, Editor of “Dreams Per Square Fit” magazine, announced the launch of a digital newsletter called “Nature Alliance” at the event. This platform aims to bring together people and organizations working towards environmental conservation and sparrow protection. How cool is that?
And let’s not forget about the amazing sponsors who made the event possible. From The Nature as the Title Sponsor to Lokmanya Multipurpose Co-Op Society Ltd as the Powered By partner, these folks really helped make the event a success.
Overall, the event was a huge win for sparrow conservation efforts. With initiatives like establishing safe habitats for sparrows and launching the “Nature Alliance” digital newsletter, we’re on the right track to ensuring these little birds stick around for generations to come. So, let’s all do our part in protecting our chirpy friends!
