Hey there, folks! Big news coming out of Pune today as the Bombay High Court has ruled in favor of the Pune Municipal Corporation (PMC) in a legal battle against 13 landowners. These landowners had constructed illegal buildings in the green belt between Mhatre Bridge and Rajaram Bridge, but the court has now dismissed their petition to prevent action against these unauthorized structures.

The dispute started when the landowners decided to build hotels and marriage lawns without the necessary permissions from the PMC. Despite multiple warnings and notices from the corporation, the construction continued. The PMC even took action during Diwali, but some owners persisted in their illegal activities.

In a recent hearing, the PMC’s arguments were supported by the court, which stated that the constructions in the green belt were not only unauthorized but also unsuitable for regularization. The land was meant for non-commercial purposes like parks and sports activities, not for commercial establishments like restaurants and hotels.

With the court’s decision, the PMC is now free to proceed with the demolition of these illegal structures. Executive Engineer Bipin Shinde has confirmed that action will be taken against all commercial premises that have been unlawfully constructed in the green belt.

So, it looks like the PMC is gearing up to clean up the green belt and restore it to its intended use. Stay tuned for more updates on this developing story!
