Pune Metro hit a major milestone on June 30th, 2024, by recording its highest-ever ridership of 199,437 passengers, raking in a whopping revenue of ₹2,415,693. This impressive feat highlights the increasing trust and popularity of Pune Metro as a reliable mode of transportation.

The breakdown of passengers showed that 83,426 traveled on Line 1 (PCMC-District Court) and 116,011 on Line 2 (Vanaz to Ramwadi). The PCMC Metro Station saw the highest footfall with 19,919 passengers, closely followed by PMC, Shivajinagar, Pune Railway Station, and Ramwadi stations. Additionally, 51,026 passengers made line transfers at the District Court interchange station.

Previous records were shattered with the highest ridership previously being 168,012 passengers on August 15th, 2023, and 131,027 passengers on August 6th, 2023, across both lines. Notably, Line 1 reached its peak ridership of 36,932 on June 16th, 2024, while Line 2 saw 64,378 passengers on June 25th, 2024. These numbers indicate a consistent upward trend in passenger usage and confidence in Pune Metro.

The rise in ridership numbers reflects Pune Metro’s commitment to enhancing its services and meeting the growing demand. The NCMC Maha Card and Student Maha Card sales have also been significant, with 39,025 and 10,522 cards sold, respectively. The top 10 stations in terms of ridership on the record-breaking day were PCMC Metro Station, PMC, Shivaji Nagar, Pune Railway Station Metro Station, Ramwadi, District Court, Vanaz, Deccan Gymkhana, Nal Stop, and Bhosari.
