Hey there Punekars! Get ready for some spicy news from your city. The Pune Municipal Corporation (PMC) is finally cracking down on officials who turned a blind eye to illegal structures at clubs and hotels. About time, right?

The Pune Police and Excise Department have already taken action against several officials for failing to enforce the rules. Four officials from Shivajinagar Police Station have been suspended, while two Excise Department officials faced consequences for not doing their job at L3 Lounge on FC Road. But the PMC was initially dragging its feet on holding its own staff accountable.

But fear not, PMC Commissioner Rajendra Bhosale is on the case. He’s reviewing all the permissions granted to pubs and hotels and plans to take action against those responsible. It’s all about accountability, folks.

Over 100 clubs are in the PMC’s crosshairs, and Chief Minister Eknath Shinde has given the green light to use bulldozers to take down any illegal constructions. It’s getting serious out there!

An excise officer pointed out the vital role the PMC plays in processing club permissions, stressing the importance of establishments following the rules.

But not everyone is happy about the crackdown. A member of the hotel association raised concerns that some club owners are being unfairly targeted. Could political pressures be at play here?

Stay tuned, Punekars. It looks like the party scene in Pune is in for a major shakeup.
