Lonavala, a popular tourist destination, has recently implemented new regulations to ensure the safety of visitors following a tragic incident involving the Ansari and Syed families. Chief Minister Eknath Shinde has taken a decisive step by banning tourists from visiting certain areas until August 31.

The administration has put in place five new rules to prevent further mishaps. Parking on Sahara Bridge is now prohibited, access to the top of three small waterfalls in front of the bridge is restricted, and going upstream from the Bhushi Dam railway guest house is completely off-limits. Additionally, the left side of the west weir of Bhushi Dam and access to key points like Lions Point, Tiger Point, and Shivling Point are restricted from 6 PM to 6 AM.

These regulations come as a response to the overcrowding and increasing number of accidents at popular tourist spots in Lonavala. The district administration and police are urging tourists to follow the new rules and warning that any disturbances or unruly behavior will not be tolerated.

As the monsoon season attracts large crowds to the natural beauty of Lonavala-Khandala, it is essential for visitors to respect the new regulations to ensure a safe and enjoyable experience. Failure to comply may result in strict action being taken against those who violate the rules.
