Yerwada was recently the scene of a shocking incident involving a woman being bitten by a dog during an argument over overdue payments from a self-help group. The 40-year-old woman went to the residence of Jyoti Raghunath Shirke and her nephew Mihir Shirke to demand the money owed to her. However, things took a violent turn when the accused allegedly verbally abused the woman and sicced their pet dog on her.

The dog reportedly bit the woman multiple times on her right hand, causing significant bleeding. Despite her pleas for help, the accused allegedly locked her outside without offering any assistance. The injured woman managed to free herself and made her way to the Yerwada police station to file a complaint before seeking medical treatment at Sassoon Hospital.

The Yerwada police have registered a case against Jyoti and Mihir Shirke based on the woman’s complaint. They have also alerted the Municipal Health Department about the dog for further action on its health and safety.

This incident has shed light on the alleged financial fraud involving the accused, who are said to have taken money from multiple women under false pretenses related to a self-help group. The police are currently conducting further investigations into the case to uncover the full extent of the fraud.
