During the Sant Shrestha Dnyaneshwar Maharaj Palkhi procession, a fire broke out on Saswad Jejuri Road near Walunj Phata. The fire was caused by a gas cylinder catching fire while Dindi number 78 was preparing food.

The Warkaris at the scene tried to put out the flames by throwing sand on the burning cylinder and contacted the fire brigade for help. The Pune Fire Brigade arrived promptly and was able to extinguish the fire using water, preventing any major disaster from occurring.

Chief of Pune Fire Brigade, Devendra Potfode, praised the efforts of his team, including Fire Officer Pramod Sonawane, Driver Narayan Jagtap, Tandel Vilas Dadas, Firemen Babasaheb Chavan and Chandrakant Navale, and Yuvraj Gawari, for their role in successfully controlling the fire.

The Pune Fire Brigade has vehicles stationed from Alandi to Pandharpur to ensure the safety of Warkaris and provide immediate assistance in case of emergencies. Vehicles from various municipalities are also available for deployment, showing the commitment to keeping everyone safe during events like the Palkhi procession.
