Punit Balan, a well-known entrepreneur from Pune, recently received a certificate of appreciation from the Southern Command of the Indian Army. The award was given to him by Lieutenant General Ajai Kumar Singh, GOC-in-C, Southern Command.

Balan has been actively involved in various social work initiatives in areas such as sports, health, arts, culture, and education through his organizations, the Punit Balan Group and the Indrani Balan Foundation. He has also collaborated with the Indian Army in the Kashmir Valley, where they have set up schools for special children in conflict-affected areas.

One of their joint projects, the Daggar School for Special Children in Baramulla, is a testament to their dedication to education and social welfare in the region. Additionally, they have established schools in other areas like Kupwara, Anantnag, Pahalgam, and more.

In partnership with the Army, Balan has also contributed to national security initiatives. They have worked together to create India’s first Constitution Park in Pune at the Southern Command.

For his outstanding work with the Indian Army, the Southern Command honored Balan and praised his contributions as exemplary. In response, Balan expressed his gratitude for the recognition and stated that it motivates him to continue his efforts with even more determination.

This is not the first time that Balan has been commended for his work. He has previously received a citation from former Vice Chief of the Indian Army, Lieutenant General BS Raju (retd), and the Central Command of the Indian Army.
