Well, folks, things got pretty interesting in the Pune Court recently. A husband decided he had had enough of his marital troubles and sought a divorce from his wife. And guess what? He actually won the case! The court took into consideration the financial situation of both parties and even evidence of the wife’s extramarital affair. In a surprising move, the court denied alimony to the wife, stating that it’s not the husband’s job to take care of her. However, they did grant alimony to their daughter.

The judge, Raghvendra Aradhye, made the call that the daughter should receive Rs 5,000 per month in alimony from the father. Suresh and Surekha (not their real names) got married back in 1996 and have been dealing with marital issues ever since. Suresh finally decided to call it quits and filed for divorce with the help of Advocate Gauri Deshpande. Surekha then asked for Rs 50,000 in alimony from her husband.

After looking at all the evidence and arguments, the court decided that Surekha’s financial situation and her extramarital affair were enough to deny her alimony. Advocate Gauri Deshpande made a statement saying that it’s not the husband’s responsibility to take care of a wife who is having an affair and can support herself. However, the court did recognize the father’s responsibility to provide for his daughter and ordered him to pay Rs 5,000 per month for her maintenance.

Judgments like these are important in cases where husbands are being harassed by false claims, so it’s definitely a win for Suresh in this situation. Looks like the Pune Court isn’t messing around when it comes to divorce proceedings!
