Hey there, folks! Today we have some interesting news coming in from Pune. It seems like the students living in the Bharat Ratna Dr. Babasaheb Ambedkar Student Hostel on Ghole Road are not exactly behaving like model residents.

Apparently, some students have been throwing drunken parties in the hostel, causing a ruckus and disrupting the peace for their fellow residents. To make matters worse, the CCTV cameras in the hostel are not working properly, and the security system is not up to par, making it easier for these students to get away with their shenanigans.

The hostel, managed by the Pune Municipal Corporation (PMC), is a lifeline for many students who come from different parts of Maharashtra to pursue their education in Pune. With free accommodation and financial support provided by PMC, the hostel serves as a home away from home for 400 students from various backgrounds, including those from Scheduled Castes, Scheduled Tribes, Other Backward Classes, and those with an EWS certificate.

However, it seems that some students are taking advantage of the facilities provided to them. During a recent raid conducted by the PMC team, alcohol bottles, cigarette packets, and tobacco pouches were found in the hostel premises. As a result, 14 students have been expelled from the hostel, and additional security guards have been requested to maintain discipline and order.

Nitin Udas, Deputy Commissioner of the Social Development Department, has assured that strict measures will be taken to prevent such incidents in the future. Random checks will be conducted in the hostels, and more security guards will be appointed to ensure the safety and well-being of the students residing there.

So, folks, it looks like the party is over for the unruly students in the PMC hostel. Let’s hope that these measures will help maintain discipline and create a conducive environment for all the residents. Stay tuned for more updates on this story!
