Hey Pune peeps, have you heard the good news? The speed limit on the Pune-Daund railway route has been increased from 65 kmph to 130 kmph! That’s right, thanks to the removal of the ‘2 turn outs’ near Loni Railway Station, trains can now zip through the section, saving passengers at least 5-7 minutes of travel time.

The ‘2 turn outs’ were causing a safety hazard and had led to a speed restriction on the route since 2008. Despite being a temporary measure, the speed limit remained in place for years. But finally, the railway administration took action and cleared the tough OHE work at the same place, allowing for the speed limit to be lifted.

It’s been a long time coming, with plans to change the location of the ‘2 turn outs’ approved back in 2017-18. However, the work was delayed for various reasons. But now, thanks to the directive from DRM Indu Dubey, the work was completed in just eight days, giving passengers a smoother and faster ride.

So, next time you hop on a train on the Pune-Daund route, be sure to enjoy the quicker journey. And remember, safety always comes first, but it’s great to see improvements that benefit us all. All aboard for a faster and safer ride!
