A shocking incident has come to light in Pune, where an employee of a well-known medical research and training institute has been accused of threatening to defame a woman doctor and molesting her. The incident reportedly took place both on a WhatsApp group and on the premises of the institute.
The victim, a 43-year-old woman, bravely lodged a complaint with the Koregaon Park Police in which she accused Sanjiv Katke of the heinous acts. A case has been registered against Katke under various sections of the Indian Penal Code.
According to reports, both the victim and the accused work in the same organization. The accused allegedly filmed a video clip of the victim at a funeral and posted it on a WhatsApp group consisting of senior officials and staffers. He also recorded a conversation with the victim and wrote objectionable remarks about her, which he then sent to her superiors.
When confronted by the victim, Katke allegedly threatened to post CCTV footage of the office premises on the group and to defame her by disclosing her movements. The victim also stated in her complaint that Katke had threatened to molest her.
