The city of Pune in Maharashtra is currently buzzing with Aashadhi Ekadashi and Wari celebrations, but a tragic incident has left everyone in shock. Kamal Sopanrao Borkar, a 65-year-old warkari woman participating in the Sant Tukaram Maharaj palanquin ceremony, passed away due to a heart attack on Monday at Tondle-Bondle village near Akluj.

Originally from Narayanpur, the Borkar family has been living in Hadapsar for several years. Kamal was an active participant in the foot procession from Satsang Dindi No. 22 of the Palkhi ceremony and had been part of the Vaari for fifteen years. She was also the president of Sri Gurudatta Bhajani Mandal, where her group performed bhajan services at religious events.

Her colleagues in Hadapsar are deeply saddened by her sudden death. Kamal is survived by her husband, son, daughter, and grandchildren. The community is mourning the loss of a dedicated and beloved member.
