The India Electronics and Semiconductor Association (IESA) Executive Council recently made waves in the region with their participation in three mega events in Pune. The events, which took place on July 15th, included the “Semiconductor Ecosystem Conference 2024,” “Brainstorming Discussions on National Policy on IT 2024,” and the IESA-Pune Chapter Industry Meeting.

Key figures such as Mr. S Krishnan from MeitY, Mr. Arvind Kumar from STPI, and Mr. Pradip Chendran from Maharashtra State, along with MCCIA office bearers, were present at the events. Their speeches highlighted the importance of the ESDM sector and praised IESA for their contributions.

Dr. V Veerappan, Chairman of IESA, stressed the significance of such events in advancing the ESDM sector, while Ashok Chandak, President of IESA, emphasized the role of Pune in India’s ESDM agenda.

The IESA executive council members discussed various aspects of the semiconductor ecosystem, including fabless ecosystem, semiconductor manufacturing, and skilling and talent development.

During the IESA Chapter meeting, over 70 members deliberated on strategies to enhance the ESDM ecosystem in Maharashtra and beyond. The focus was on enabling local value addition, leveraging Pune’s engineering institutes for skilling, and shaping state policies for technological advancement.

IESA aims to establish India as a global hub for electronics manufacturing and design, working closely with government ministries, industry players, and academic institutions. Their efforts are geared towards positively impacting the lives of over 1.3 billion Indians.
