The streets of Koregaon Park in Pune witnessed a dramatic showdown between a Pune Mahanagar Parivahan Mahamandal Limited (PMPML) driver and a police constable, which quickly escalated into a physical altercation. The dispute reportedly began when the PMPML driver allegedly drove too close to the police constable’s bike, sparking a heated argument that led to both men exchanging blows and grabbing each other’s collars.
A video capturing the entire incident surfaced on social media, quickly going viral and drawing widespread criticism of the constable’s behavior. Both parties were taken to the Koregaon Park Police Station to settle the dispute through mediation. The police constable, identified as R.A. Waghmare, submitted a formal application acknowledging the ‘minor dispute’ with the PMPML driver, Bhagwat Torne, and stated that they had resolved the issue amicably. Waghmare even went as far as compensating Torne Rs 3,000 for damages incurred to the PMPML.
The incident has sparked a wave of discussions on social media, with many condemning the police constable’s conduct during the altercation. The video has raised questions about the appropriate behavior expected from law enforcement officers in such situations, and has served as a reminder of the importance of resolving conflicts peacefully and professionally.
