Hey there, Pune peeps! Looks like we’re in for some wet weather trouble as the Khadakwasla Dam is releasing more water into the Mutha River. Yep, you heard that right – the water discharge is set to increase from 7,276 cusecs to 9,416 cusecs starting tonight at 11 PM.

Why the sudden change, you ask? Well, it’s all because of the heavy rainfall we’ve been experiencing lately. The folks over at the Khadakwasla Irrigation Department are just trying to keep things under control and manage those water levels effectively.

According to Executive Engineer Shweta Kurhade, they’ll be keeping a close eye on the rainfall intensity and adjusting the discharge as needed. And let me tell you, the increased water flow is already causing quite a stir. Bhide Bridge is underwater, and some riverside roads are feeling the effects too.

To deal with the flooding, the traffic police have had to close off those routes and are suggesting detours for all you commuters out there. So be sure to plan accordingly and stay safe on those soggy streets!
