Hey folks, it’s been a rough time in the district with the recent heavy rains causing some serious damage. Unfortunately, four lives were lost due to landslides at Tamhini Ghat in Maval and Lavasa. The authorities weren’t taking any chances and closed down all tourist spots for a couple of days to keep everyone safe.
Our District Collector, Dr. Suhas Diwase, wasted no time in getting two NDRF teams and army personnel on the ground for flood relief operations. With the rain showing no signs of letting up, Dr. Divekar decided to give everyone a break by declaring a holiday for all schools and colleges in the district today. Stay safe, folks!
The weather department is predicting more rain today, so be prepared for some wet weather. Especially in the ghat regions and dam catchment areas, things might get pretty intense with very heavy rains expected. Keep an eye on the skies and stay safe out there!
