The past few days have been filled with moments that have made me pause and reflect on what truly makes someone or something extraordinary. A recent incident involving my in-laws at Delhi Airport on 14th July ’24 highlighted the true meaning of heroism and selflessness.

As my in-laws were about to board their flight to Bhubaneswar, my father-in-law forgot his handbag containing important documents at the security gate. In a panic, he rushed back to retrieve it but suffered a blackout and fell down. Fortunately, my mother-in-law, who had a gut feeling something was wrong, traced her steps back and received a call from a stranger informing her about the incident.

The stranger revealed that a doctor-passenger had come to my father-in-law’s aid, administering life-saving CPR and medication. Thanks to the quick actions of Dr. Priya Garg and her colleagues, my father-in-law received the necessary medical attention before being rushed to the hospital.

Tests revealed multiple blockages in his coronary artery, necessitating an immediate bypass surgery. The family was in shock but grateful for the timely intervention that saved his life. A video of the incident surfaced later, capturing the intense moments of the doctors performing CPR and ensuring his pulse was stable.

The family was deeply moved by the selfless actions of Dr. Garg and her team, who simply saw it as their duty to help someone in need. It took my husband a whole day to track down Dr. Garg to express their gratitude, but words seemed inadequate to convey the depth of their appreciation.

In the end, this incident reminded me of the true meaning of extraordinariness – the ability to rise to the occasion and help others without expecting anything in return. Dr. Priya Garg, along with Dr. Ramakant Goyal, Dr. Umesh Bansal, and Dr. Dolly Bansal, are the unsung heroes who deserve all the recognition for their life-saving actions.

This is my heartfelt tribute to these extraordinary individuals who made a difference when it mattered the most. Thank you for giving my father-in-law the gift of time and a second chance at life.
