Raj Thackeray, the Chief of Maharashtra Navnirman Sena, is currently in Pune to assess the aftermath of heavy rains and flooding in the city. In a scathing criticism of the government and administration, Thackeray questioned their efficiency in handling the situation. He expressed his disappointment by asking, “Is this how the government operates?”

Thackeray highlighted the lack of responsibility among corporators in Pune, stating that the city has now become four separate entities. He criticized the government for providing housing to migrants from other states while neglecting the local population. Thackeray emphasized the need for a united effort from all political parties to address the issues at hand.

Taking a dig at Deputy Chief Minister Ajit Pawar, Thackeray pointed out the overflowing dams in Pune despite Pawar’s absence. He urged the government to focus on town planning and curb unauthorized constructions in riverbeds to prevent future flooding incidents.

In response to Sharad Pawar’s remarks about Maharashtra potentially resembling Manipur, Thackeray suggested that Pawar should refrain from contributing to such negative narratives. He also drew attention to a recent fatal accident in Pune involving a Porsche car, lamenting the lack of media coverage on the victims.

Thackeray’s visit to Pune underscores the urgent need for coordinated efforts and efficient governance to tackle the challenges faced by the city in the wake of natural disasters.
