Hey Pune peeps, did you hear about the landslide that happened at Sinhagad Ghat? Luckily, it was in the middle of the night when there was no traffic, so no one was hurt. The road is closed for now, but they’re working on clearing the debris so it should be open by the afternoon or evening.
The landslide occurred near Batata Point, about a kilometre away from the main parking area of Sinhagad Fort. It’s been raining like crazy in that area, which made the spot prone to landslides. Some other incidents have happened in the same area recently, so officials are warning people to be careful when visiting the fort.
Even though the rain has eased up a bit in Pune city, the Ghat sections are still getting hit hard. Sinhagad Fort is a popular spot for enjoying the monsoon, but it’s important to be cautious while visiting. The Forest Department and Forest Management Committee are keeping an eye on things to ensure everyone’s safety.
