The Pimpri Chinchwad Municipal Corporation (PCMC) has snagged the second spot in a recent survey evaluating healthcare and medical services. Not too far behind, the Pune Municipal Corporation (PMC) secured third place in the rankings. But guess who clinched the number one position? Sangli Municipal Corporation takes the crown this time around.
PCMC earned a respectable score of 38.93%, while PMC wasn’t too far off with a score of 35.11%. Sangli, however, led the pack with an impressive score of 41.26%. Dr. Vaishali Jadhav from PMC shared that the city has come a long way, moving up from 25th place in previous years to now holding the third spot. She emphasized that PMC is dedicated to further improving their healthcare services.
In the last survey, Sangli Municipal Corporation held the top spot, with Kolhapur Municipal Corporation following closely behind in second place. PMC was in third place, while PCMC held the fifth spot. The survey evaluated various health initiatives, such as child health, family planning, and disease management, including dengue and HIV. It also looked into the financial allocations for medical services and the quality of care provided in hospitals and clinics.
Dr. Laxman Gophane, Health Officer at PCMC, highlighted the city’s commitment to offering top-notch medical care. He mentioned the establishment of multiple hospitals to provide free treatment to the underprivileged. Shekhar Singh, PCMC Commissioner, expressed gratitude to the Medical Department staff for their hard work. Singh also shared PCMC’s goal of attaining the top spot nationally in healthcare rankings.
