Hey there, Pune folks! Here’s some juicy news for you – the director of Samrat Ashok Club and Resorts, Ashok Khivansara, has found himself in hot water for some shady land dealings. Apparently, he bought some land using a letter of guarantee in the name of a woman who passed away a decade ago. Talk about bold moves!

The Sub Registrar, Bapu Jamdade, didn’t take too kindly to this and lodged a complaint against Mr. Khivansara at the Lonavala City Police Station. It seems that the power of attorney for the 4-hectare land in Varsoli was transferred to him by some other POA-holders, all on behalf of individuals who may not have been alive to give their consent.

One sharp-eyed resident of Pimpri, Nisha Prakash Rakhiyani, wasn’t about to let this slide. She submitted a complaint application to the Sub-Registrar’s office, prompting an inquiry into the matter. And guess what? It turns out that one of the supposed guarantors, Shilawat Vadharam Gupta, had actually passed away back in 1997. Yet somehow, a fake letter of guarantee bearing her name surfaced ten years later. Talk about a ghostly twist to this land saga.

The Lonavala Police are now on the case, investigating the whole mess. Looks like Mr. Khivansara might have some explaining to do. Stay tuned for more updates on this intriguing tale of land fraud in our very own Pune city!
