Residents in the Baner area, along with former corporator Amol Balwadkar, took to the streets in a rainy protest against the municipal administration. The frustration over persistent road issues, including potholes and traffic management problems, reached a boiling point as over a hundred citizens gathered at Radha Chowk in Baner.

For nearly two years, residents in Baner, Balewadi, Sus, Mahalunge, and Pashan have been dealing with severe traffic congestion, pothole-ridden roads, and incomplete alternative routes. The continuous traffic delays have had a negative impact on the physical and mental well-being of the community. Despite numerous complaints to the administration, the issues remain unresolved, leading to the protest organized by Balwadkar and supported by various local societies.

During the protest, no competent officers from the administration showed up to accept the grievances, leading to the burning of the statement in frustration. After police intervention, the protest was temporarily halted.

The demands of the protesters included immediate repairs to the roads, appointment of traffic wardens, activation of signal systems, construction of a new underpass near the Mumbai-Bangalore Highway, completion of the Balewadi-Wakad Road, and improvement of the Mahalunge-Nande Road.

The protest emphasized the urgent need for action from the municipal administration to address the long-standing issues faced by the residents of Baner and surrounding areas.
