Hey Punekars, get ready for some relief from the never-ending traffic issues in the city! Heavy vehicles have been banned from entering 30 chowks and other spots in Pune from August 5 to 12.

The Pune City Traffic Police took this decision in light of the deteriorating condition of roads due to heavy rainfall. Potholes have been causing chaos on the streets, leading to serious traffic congestion.

But don’t worry, emergency services are exempted from the ban. Heavy vehicles like trucks, dumpers, and concrete mixers are prohibited from 9 am to 10 pm at major chowks including Sancheti Chowk, Rajaram Bridge, and Lullanagar to Golibar Maidan.

DCP (Traffic) Rohidas Pawar issued a notification stating that the intermittent rains have created potholes on the city roads, hence the ban on heavy vehicles.

So, Punekars, let’s hope this temporary measure brings some relief to our daily commute and helps in easing the traffic woes in our beloved city.
