This cutting-edge facility, spanning 1,000 square feet, aims to revolutionize car audio acoustics, engineering, and research to meet and exceed consumer expectations.

The lab is meticulously designed to replicate a typical residential listening environment, allowing approximately 500 engineers and research teams in India to test, develop, and validate car audio systems with unmatched precision. With hidden modular panels that can adjust the reflective properties of the space, the lab offers flexibility to tailor listening experiences to specific needs, ensuring optimal acoustic results.

Harman collaborated with Modi Digital, a renowned Pro Audio consultancy in India, to design and create this state-of-the-art lab. Equipped with advanced audio equipment, including main loudspeakers, subwoofers, and height channels using Harman Luxury Audio and Professional products, the lab boasts a 9.1.6 Dolby ATMOS configuration for an immersive audio experience.

Jonathan Pierce, Director of Audio Benchmarking and Engineering at Harman Automotive, highlighted the lab’s importance in meeting global standards for automotive research and evaluation. Sanjeev Kulkarni, Vice President at Harman Automotive, expressed excitement about the lab’s potential to set a new benchmark for automotive engineering and research.
