Good morning Pune! It seems like our city is finally taking steps to address the longstanding issues that have been plaguing our neighborhoods. The Pune Municipal Corporation (PMC) has recognized the lack of coordination between the Head Office and Ward Offices as a major roadblock in resolving civic problems. To tackle this, mandatory monthly meetings have been put in place to ensure that these issues are addressed promptly.

Citizens and NGOs have been vocal about their frustrations with the slow progress in resolving local works and civic issues. Many complaints have been pouring in, urging the PMC to take action. It appears that the disconnect between the head office and ward offices has been a major contributing factor to the delays in resolving these matters.

In response to these concerns, PMC Additional Commissioner Prithviraj BP has issued a directive for all ward deputy commissioners to meet with assistant commissioners on a monthly basis. These meetings will focus on reviewing the status of ongoing development works in each ward and ensuring coordination with key departments. The aim is to expedite sewage and road maintenance projects, as well as address issues related to street lights and water supply without delay.

The circular also emphasizes the importance of effective communication with citizens regarding schemes from the Central and Maharashtra State Governments. Tasks falling under the jurisdiction of the Ward Offices must be completed promptly, and reports of discussions and actions taken during the meetings are to be submitted to the Commissioner’s office.

It’s great to see the PMC taking proactive steps to improve the coordination between offices and address civic issues in a timely manner. Let’s hope that these monthly meetings will lead to tangible improvements in our neighborhoods. Stay tuned for updates on the progress made in the next meeting!
