IPG Mediabrands, the media arm of Interpublic Group, has opened its largest global capability centre in Pune. The facility will house up to 3,000 employees and provide services to over 500 global clients. The company plans to recruit data scientists and analysts to enhance its operations.

CEO Jarrod Martin highlighted the strategic importance of investing in India, citing the country’s talent pool. The Pune centre is part of IPG’s global expansion, with GCCs already in several countries. IPG Mediabrands India CEO Shashi Sinha emphasized the company’s commitment to leveraging local talent for media innovation.

The Pune centre is part of IPG’s effort to standardize global systems and processes. Future acquisitions in India are being considered, particularly in retail media. The company is also focusing on enhancing capabilities in AI and marketing technology.

Both Martin and Sinha noted that while AI will automate tasks and change job roles, it will also create new opportunities. They stressed the importance of ongoing learning and adaptation in the evolving job market.
