Ajit Pawar, the Deputy Chief Minister of Maharashtra, is not messing around when it comes to accelerating development in key tourist spots and infrastructure projects in Pune district. In a recent review meeting, Pawar made it clear that completion deadlines must be met by the end of August.

Specifically focusing on the Maval Assembly constituency, Pawar urged officials to speed up ongoing projects and kickstart new ones. He emphasized the importance of getting tenders out for proposed developments and getting ready for inaugurations and foundation-laying ceremonies in early September.

Some of the major projects under review include the renovation of the Killa pilgrimage site, the funicular railway at the Shri Ekvira Devi Temple, and the development of the Saint Santaji Jagnade Maharaj monument. Pawar wants to see improvements in facilities, accommodations, and safety measures.

In Lonavala’s Kurwande area, plans are in place for the Tiger and Lions Point projects, including a glass skywalk, adventure sports facilities, and road widening. Pawar stressed the need for strong infrastructure and safety measures, suggesting consultations with experts from IIT Roorkee and Delhi.

Infrastructure projects funded by the Asian Development Bank in Maval are also on Pawar’s radar, with instructions for completion within set timelines. Discussions also included the resolution of pending issues at Lokmanya Hospital in Nigdi.

Lastly, Pawar highlighted the importance of fair land distribution for families affected by the Pavana Dam project. He called for a swift start to the allocation process, ensuring fairness and addressing any encroachments. It’s clear that Pawar means business when it comes to advancing development in Pune district.
